Project For Semester 1 2025
Building a PC
The goal for this project was to build a PC (personal computer) from scratch all by myself with no experience as i currently had a computer but as it was reaching nearly 3 years and i wasnt getting the performance i wanted, i decided to save up enough money and learn how to build one.

Essential Question
How can i challenge myself to build a new pc with no experience and compare the performance, cooling and speed to my old computer how much faster really is it and how did the build experience go?
What I Did To Achieve This?
Planning
I started by planning out my budget range for this project this was my number 1 priority as I needed to set a fixed budget, and to not go over or under it and to spend wisely and get very good value and price to performance of the parts I was buying.
Research
after setting my budget I started researching and using videos of what are the best components for my price range and as I was shopping around for different products. I found it hard to keep track of my prices and what different companies to purchase these from, to get the cheapest price possible but the more I researched one website kept getting mentioned from every video and article I reviewed it was pcpartpicker.com.au and this was amazing and told me if the parts were compatible together, and got the cheapest prices and let me set a budget and recommend other people builds with the same price range.
after ordering all the parts they arrived a week later and I was happy with what I selected as it fit my budget as I got the best price to performance parts as needing to spend less but get more performance of what your paying for essentially better value. after I came back from school camp I decided on the weekend to build it, some things were easy and harder then other steps but after 3 days of emotions, testing and troubleshooting the pc worked and booted correctly and nothing went wrong but overall very fun building experience.

PC Project Goals
Setting project goals is a great way to motivate myself and to set goals to know what i have to complete for my project and what to aim for that i have to complete which links up for my artifacts that i have to create.
Quantitative Reasoning.
My goal for quantitative reasoning is to test my computer for performance, cooling and speed and compare it against my old computer, while also creating a fixed budget and to not go over or under the budget while getting the best price to performance and lastly to show my math work this year which is my PSMT.
