Project For Semester 2 2025
Drone Project.
The Drone Project explores how drones can be used to build skills in technology, communication, and problem-solving while addressing real-world issues in Australia. By designing, flying, and analysing drones, I learn about flight performance, safety, laws, and ethical use, showing how this technology supports innovation in fields like agriculture, environment, and emergency response.

Essential Question
My essential question guides my project by encouraging me to explore both the technical and ethical sides of drone technology. Through testing, filming, data collection, and research, I aim to understand how drones can improve communication, support environmental and agricultural work, what they are used for and operate safely under Australian laws. The question helps me link creativity, scientific inquiry, and social responsibility as I learn how drones can make a positive impact in modern society to have a real world impact.
What I Did To Achieve This?
I began by outlining clear goals for my drone project, linking each to their specific goal, data analysis, and responsible use. I planned weekly flight sessions, journal reflections, and research topics to track my progress. I also scheduled when to collect data, film footage, and complete key tasks such as cost analysis and reviews.
Planning
I researched drone laws and safety rules through CASA’s Know Your Drone program and explored how drones are used in Australia for farming, emergency response, and conservation. I also studied aerodynamics, camera settings, and flight controls to improve my skills. Learning from online guides, videos, and professional operators through websites helped me understand both the technical and ethical sides of drone use.
Research
I carried out flight tests to collect and graph data on altitude, speed, and battery life. I experimented with camera settings to create high-quality footage and diagrams explaining drone parts. I wrote reflections after each session, recording and documenting what I improved and how I handled challenges. I shared my findings through visuals, videos, and written explanations to communicate how drones can be used safely and creatively in Australia.

Drone Project Goals
Setting project goals is a great way to motivate myself and to set goals to know what i have to complete for my project and what to aim for that i have to complete which links up for my artifacts that i have to create.
